WINTER LACROSSE REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Blackhawk Lacrosse is excited to announce our Winter Lacrosse Registration is now open. The Winter Season will start the week of January 5th and run for 6 weeks. Register early and save on registration. The Early-Bird Discount ends Dec. 2nd. Space is limited, so make sure to register early to ensure your spot for Winter Lacrosse.
GIRLS LACROSSE PROGRAM
The Blackhawk Girls Division will be offering programs for girls in grades 3 through 12 at every level of experience this winter. Please note that, due to limited indoor space, our girls program will be held on Saturdays this winter (not Sundays as we’ve done in years past). For players who are new to lacrosse, we will be offering 6 week Beginner Clinics for girls in grades 3-7 and grades 8-12. These players will learn fundamental stick skills along with the offensive and defensive skills necessary to build a solid game foundation. The Beginner Clinics are paced specifically for the new player and will prepare girls to compete alongside more experienced peers in the spring. For those who have already been introduced to lacrosse, Blackhawk offers winter leagues for girls in grades 3/4, 5/6 & 7/8 which includes both instruction and game play. For the experienced high school players, we offer our popular High School 7v7 League (games only) for girls in grades 9-12. Register early to guarantee your spot!
BOYS LACROSSE PROGRAM
The Blackhawk Boys Division is pleased to announce our sessions will include opportunities for boys 1-8th grade. Our new curriculum for the Boys Winter Session is designed to challenge returning players, and increase the speed at which new players grasp fundamental concepts of the game. Each age group will work through age appropriate skills and drills in smaller groups designed to provide high-touch opportunities. Each session will focus on the fundamentals of throwing, catching, and ground balls and feature break-out sessions for face-offs, defensive play, and shooting, to ready our boys for the Spring Season. Offensive concepts including ball movement, spacing and plays along with game play will be featured in the winter sessions for all ages.
Another Fall season is winding down. We couldn't have done it without the support of our families and our coaches. Every season, we ask for your feedback so that we can continue to grow the game, introduce more kids to the sport, and increase our quality of coaching. As Coaching Coordinator, I review the feedback and provide it to our coaches so they know how they can grow in their role, which directly impacts the quality and effectiveness of our program. Would you please take a few minutes and complete the Fall Season Coaches Evaluation? Please click here and follow the instructions. We greatly appreciate your feedback and continued support of Blackhawk Lacrosse.
Blackhawk Lacrosse is the operating name for Hanover County Lacrosse Club, a non-profit organization developed to promote the growth of the sport of lacrosse in Hanover County, Virginia.
Our goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for your child to learn the game of lacrosse. At the core of our programs, we will teach appropriate skills and rules while stressing a positive atmosphere among the athletes to create a culture where kids love to play the game.
Hanover County Lacrosse Club is governed by a volunteer board of directors, and our coaches are volunteers. The success and growth of our programs depend heavily on the strong spirit of all our volunteers and their love of the game.
